YOUTH THEATER IN BOLIVIA - TRONO COMPA, La Paz, El Alto, Bolivia

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Intercultural exchange between ten Bolivian youths from the Bolivian organization COMPA (El Alto) and ten Ghent youths related with the organization Methodeschool De Buurt. For three weeks the young people work together with a group of artists around the themes STREET and PARADE. The starting point is the potential added value that emanates from an intercultural encounter with special emphasis in equality, collaboration, experiential learning, participation and empowerment.
COMPA (Comunidad de Productores en Artes) Teatro Trono - is a socio-artistic organization that emerged from the first project of the sociologist Ivan Nogales in 1991. Teatro Trono was a therapeutic theater project with street children and adolescents in La Paz, where theater was used as a teaching method to promote socialization and rehabilitation of young people.
